Meet Melissa!

1. How long have you been part of the Comsearch team?
10 Years

2. What inspires or excites you the most about working in this industry?
I really enjoy the fact that it’s not the same thing every day. I’m always coming across new situations and issues and it keeps me on my toes.

3. What skills have you developed since joining the company?
I’ve learned so much since I’ve started working here. I didn’t know anything about this industry when I first started. But now, I know the structure of a vehicle, how to build estimates, the repair process, how to search for parts, subrogation, admin skills, and a lot more. Plus, I’m still continuing to learn new things every day.

4. What is the best compliment or positive feedback you have received from a client/coworker/manager?
My favorite thing to hear is “I appreciate you.” It’s a simple statement, but it really helps to make me feel like a valuable member of the team, and it motivates me to continue to do my very best every day.

5. How do you balance your work and personal life?
I balance my work and personal life by keeping a routine set for myself during the week. It helps me to feel more grounded and makes things feel less chaotic and stressful. After work hours, I do things that help me recharge my batteries, whether it’s reading, playing a game, or catching up on a TV show.

6. When you’re not working, what hobbies or activities do you enjoy?
I love to cook and bake, read, craft, and play video games.

7. How do you stay motivated and inspired in your role?
I stay motivated and inspired by continuing to look for new ways to grow and learn in this industry. Also, helping my co-workers makes me feel good because I enjoy contributing to the team and hope that my support helps make their days a little easier.

8. What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
My favorite way to spend a day off is to be with my husband and dog. I’m a homebody, so I’m perfectly content, especially in the colder months, to be at home with them watching a movie or binge-watching a show and just hanging out. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

9. If you could have any fictional character as a colleague, who would it be and why?
Ok, this may sound a little strange, but Spongebob Squarepants because he’s positive, upbeat, and hardworking. He doesn’t really seem to let things get him down, and I feel like he’d be fun to work with.

10. What was your very first job, and what did it teach you?
My first job was working for Family Services Association in Fall River, MA. I worked in their after school day care program. It taught me how to be more patient, compassionate, and flexible.
